Carol nasce a Genova il 22 luglio 1971 da mamma italo-anglo-equadoregna e papá navigatore.
Fino all'età di 17 anni vive a Chiavari e frequenta il liceo scientifico Marconi che concluderà poi a Pieve di Cadore (BL) nel 1988. Nell'arco di questi 18 anni Carol dedica molto del suo tempo a viaggiare, una passione che coltiva ancora oggi. A Belo Horizonte in Brasile all’età di 29 anni scopre la sua vera passione... la pittura ed in poco tempo diventa una grande iper realista. Nel 2001 si trasferisce a Rio e vince svariati concorsi di pittura.
Nel 2002 fa la sua prima esposizione nella città che l'ha ospitata per tanti anni (Chiavari) insieme al suo maestro brasiliano ... ed è un successo!
Da allora non ha più smesso di dipingere. La sua pittura passa dai colori più accesi al bianco e nero, i temi più amati sono l'acqua e la frutta ricca c'è grande vitalità e colore. Carol è un’artista alla continua ricerca di soggetti e di esperienze nuove per mettere l’osservatore di fronte ad un qualcosa su cui deve riflettere, di fronte ad emozioni che non sai spiegare. Le sue opere danno serenità, vitalità ed allegria e sono di altissima qualità pittorica.
Carol Botto was born in Genoa in 1971. She has a
very cosmopolitan background as her mother is of Italian, English and Ecuadorian
ancestry, and her father, being a sailor, has taken his family to exotic places.
Till the age of 17 she lived in Chiavari. where she attended the “Marconi.”
Scientific High School. She completed her education in Pieve di Cadore in
1988.
During the first 18 years of life she travelled a
lot, a passion that she still cultivates today.
While living in Belluno she attended a course for
interpreters at the Marco Polo School with the same constant idea in her mind:
travelling. Finally at the age of 29 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, she discovered
her real passion: painting. In a short time, she became a hyperrealist and won
several art contests. In 2002 she presented her first exhibition in Italy where
her paintings are now exhibited and sold regularly.
Her style ranges from bright colours to black and
white. Her favourite themes are “water” and “children”, and her paintings of
fruits are luscious and those of cigars are sensual. She is always discovering
new and new experiences such as the association of colors to black and white.
She is constantly seeking for something that photography cannot give us.
Confronted by her art you experience the surfacing of emotions that are hard to
explain. The loneliness she has often experienced reflects in the serenity of
her works, while her vitality is revealed by the vividness of her colours that
transmit a feeling of happiness.
